Visiting Nurse Associations (VNAs) are well-established licensed, non-profit, home health care agencies. They may be comprised of traditional, independent, and freestanding agencies; home health and hospices affiliated with or owned by integrated health care systems; and small freestanding hospices. Through a local VNA, residents receive quality nursing and rehabilitative services in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. A VNA works with the individual and his or her physician to develop a tailored treatment plan used to achieve care goals.
The extent of the services provided by VNAs necessitates a comprehensive, specialized insurance program that addresses the unique and broad range of exposures an agency and its staff face on a daily basis. Manchester Specialty Programs has been insuring the home health care industry and its various segments for over 40 years. Our insurance solutions with top-tier carriers are designed to respond to the various exposures VNAs face and to help mitigate and prevent losses.
One of the critical coverages for VNAs is Professional Liability insurance, a key component of our program to protect home health, hospice and palliative care organizations for the actions of their employees, independent contractors and volunteers. With our VNA Professional Liability product, you can provide coverage on an occurrence or claims-made basis. In addition, with our policy form, you can offer the appropriate liability limits to properly protect the entity for the services provided on a daily basis by a variety of care professionals, including nurses, physical therapists, employed physicians, home health aides, and most types of care providers.
In addition to our core Entity Professional Liability insurance product, we also offer a portfolio of additional coverages to protect VNAs through a selection of “A” rated or better quality insurers. This includes:
We also provide installment plan options for your clients.
Our programs and insurance products are offered exclusively through licensed agents and brokers in all states (we do not sell directly to health care firms). Clients have the advantage of working with their local insurance agent or broker of choice.
