NAHC’s 2020 Home Care and Hospice Conference and Expo Goes Virtual

September 21, 2020

This year’s Home Care and Hospice Conference and Expo, which takes place October 19-21, is a virtual event. Hosted by the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), the conference’s theme is “Our Health: Caring for Caregivers,” with the focus on the personal wellness of caregivers and their effect on others, especially on colleagues who depend on them as well as on the patients they serve. This topic is particularly salient in the wake of the pandemic where caregivers like many other healthcare workers and frontline workers have been under even more stress and pressure as a result of the dramatic shift in our new normal of work and life.

The Home Care and Hospice Conference and Expo is where home care and hospice owners, executives, managers, professionals, clinicians, and industry partners gather annually to exchange resources, strategies, and solutions. Originally scheduled to take place in Florida, the NAHC was able to pivot to a virtual event to keep attendees safe – in alignment with safer-at-home recommendations, travel restrictions and quarantine mandates still applicable to and from certain states, and social-distancing requirements. The virtual event will allow for many more participants to learn and engage with others which would otherwise not be possible, with attendees continuing to get the quality of education they’ve always received.

The conference is available on-line and on-demand and includes topics on helping health professionals face daily stress, time pressures, and workloads that can lead to deteriorating health and general wellness. “Burnout among healthcare professionals,” says the NAHC, “the brick wall where our mind and our bodies refuse to go on, is on the rise, especially as we continue to face a public health emergency.”

Exhibitors will be participating with e-booths that include a live meeting room and chat room.
