Membership in National Association for Home Care & Hospice Has Its Benefits

January 31, 2018

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), a nonprofit organization, represents the nation’s 33,000 home care and hospice providers, along with the more than two million nurses, therapists, and aides they employ.  Some 12 million patients depend on home care and hospice providers, who depend on NAHC for the best in advocacy, education, and information. In addition to serving as the unified voice for the home care and hospice community, NAHC also provides its members with several key benefits, including discounts and group-purchasing agreements for products and services through its affinity programs.

Manchester Specialty Programs Inc., which provides a total business insurance solution for home health care, companion care, VNAs, hospices and medical staffing firms, is proud to be among NAHC’s select affinity programs. Eligible NAHC members receive a 5% premium discount on Workers’ Compensation insurance, one of the core coverages available in our insurance program. In addition to providing this mandatory coverage, we offer risk management tools and strategies through our carriers to help home health care providers, hospices and others gain control over ongoing Workers’ Comp costs, improve safety, assist employees in returning to work, and reduce fraudulent claims.

We are also working with our top-tier insurance carrier partners to develop custom NAHC member enhancements for our current products, as well as to introduce new and exclusive insurance products for NAHC members. Our program is available in all 50 states and includes Workers’ Compensation, Professional Liability, General Liability/Package, Non-Owned & Hired Auto, Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Regulatory Audit Coverage and Cyber Liability.

In addition to business insurance in our program, NAHC members also have access to on-line training courses at discounted rates through the trade association’s affinity partner, Relias Learning. Through the courses provided by Relias Learning, home care and hospice professionals can meet regulatory and compliance standards. Members also enjoy a discount on the Relias Learning Management System, which provides systematic training for on-boarding and staff development; customized training options to drive compliance with an home health care agency’s training and continuous improvement programs; and automated training management tools to save time and money and track training results. Participating in ongoing education and staff training makes good business sense and also creates a more favorable account from an insurance underwriting standpoint.

Other NAHC member benefits include access to free financial education through NAHC’s partnership with Edelman Financial Services; special incentives on car fleet acquisitions and car rental discounts through Enterprise Fleet Management; and free educational materials on CMS programs, policies, and initiatives through the Medical Learning Network.  For more information about becoming a member of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), visit the Provider Member Benefits section on their website.
