Amid COVID-19 Pandemic, 2020 NAHC Financial Management Conference Going Virtual

May 30, 2020

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) and the Home Care & Hospice Financial Managers Association recently announced that the 2020 Financial Management Conference (FMC) is going virtual due to the coronavirus pandemic, safety concerns and travel restrictions. Scheduled to take place July 27-30, 2020, the on-line conference will include four days of education, general sessions and a virtual expo. The leadership of both organizations is putting the safety of their guests first with the decision to move the conference to an on-line platform.

The FMC virtual expo will be open Monday, July 27, 2020 and Thursday, July 30, 2020, with educational content presented on July 28 and 29.  Two general sessions will be featured:

  • A Washington Update, including NAHC President Bill Dombi’s policy briefing
  • A Leadership Panel Discussion on “The New Emerging World of Post-COVID-19 Health Care”

The 2020 FMC will help businesses navigate the new laws and regulations governing the home care and hospice industry. The two days of educational sessions (with 28 timely and informative educational sessions from which to choose) feature finance leaders and others, and are designed to show home health care and hospice providers how to operate efficiently from a finance perspective while providing quality care. Additional topics will cover:

  • Transitioning to Patient-Driven Groupings Model (PDGM), building on the PDGM 2020 Virtual Summits
  • How to master managed care
  • The best practices for employee recruitment and retention
  • How to increase the value of your home health care agency

The conference’s virtual expo features expanded profiles on each exhibitor (60+ companies), which are available on the conference online platform. A new matchmaking service will help pair exhibitors with attendees based on multiple demographic qualities. Exhibitors and attendees will also be able to directly contact each other through the portal to schedule appointments during the two-day exposition. According to NAHC, “the FMC Virtual Expo is open July 27 and July 30 and does not compete with education sessions, so you will have plenty of time to find the solutions to whatever challenges your agency is facing. If you’re looking for a business partner to help secure the future of your agency, the FMC Virtual Expo is where you will find it.”
