Visiting Nurse Associations (VNAs) are well-established licensed, non-profit, home health care agencies. Over 100 ago, they were the first social service agencies to provide care at home. Through a local VNA, residents receive quality nursing and rehabilitative services in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. A VNA works with the individual and his or her physician to develop a tailored treatment plan used to achieve care goals.
The extent of the services provided by VNAs necessitates a comprehensive, specialized insurance program that addresses the unique and broad range of exposures an agency and its staff face on a daily basis. We’ve been insuring the home health care industry and its various segments for over 20 years. Our program is designed to respond to the various exposures VNAs face and to help mitigate and prevent losses.
One of the key coverages for VNAs involves Professional Liability, a key component of our program to protect the growing ranks of home health, hospice and palliative care organizations throughout the country. With our VNA Professional Liability product, coverage can be written on an occurrence or claims-made basis. The entity itself can be liable for the actions of its employees, independent contractors and volunteers. Our policy form can offer the appropriate limits of liability to properly cover the services provided on a daily basis by a variety of care professionals, including nurses, physical therapists, employed physicians, home health aides, and most types of care providers.
Our program offers an all-lines solution with tailored coverage for VNAs from select top-tier insurance companies. You also get the benefit of our underwriting expertise and integrity, and the ability to “cross-underwrite” exposures – key for VNAs which provide a multitude of services. In addition, we offer easy payment options with no finance charges, which is important for the operation of a VNA and its budgetary concerns.
